Reflection: Group tutorial 4

For tutorial 4, we have to do some advertising which is making a flyer and distribute to our classmates and also do a survey. With that, we have to close the event too which is part of the marketing plan.

With closing event, we have to make sure we have to plan and organise on how to close and have the original place back to how it was.

For creating the flyer, we used Microsoft Publisher and use one of the flyer samples.

This is our flyer. The final one.
We also had done another one. But Alan mistakenly sent out the 2 flyers together with the survey and send out to everyone. This had made some of our classmates who did our survey and made them confuse. :(

Joanne and I created the Survey. Came up with the relevant questions and had some good replies and some bad ones. like for example, for good ones, some suggestions given like give out goodie bags or put list of events and their timings on the flyer and some prizes. We will take this suggestions into consideration and improve more on our event.

Some feedbacks are like why must it be cats? why can't it be for all pets.
Well, from our point of view, we have to take in concern about the other religions like for example Muslims who can't come in contact with dogs. That is why Cats are chosen.

I hope tomorrow's presentation is going to be a success :)
Through this 4 weeks of tutorials, i have learnt alot.
This is quite a tough module but my group can handle it :)

Reflection: Group tutorial 3

For tutorial 3, we are focusing on the 4Ps and Marketing Plan.

Like how we use it on Sara Lee and find their 4Ps, we applied in on our Feline Fiesta event.
I've learnt that the 4Ps - Place, Product, Price & Promotion helps alot for organizing this event. It make things simpler and moving to the right direction.

With that, we have decided where to held the event which is at Queenstown Community Centre and book their Multi Purpose Hall.
And we have varieties of products from different booths such as Games booths, a booth selling Cat Merchandise and also food like caramel Popcorn and Hot Dogs.
All of this 4Ps will help us with our Marketing Plan.

Which is to Prepare and organize the event and to implement the event.
I had done this part for our report.
It is quite easy to handle once i get the hang of it because we had to do the same example by selling Frozen Foods and took ideas from Sara Lee Corporation and do the marketing plan.

If this event were to come through, i hope it will be a success :)

a week before MST

Today, during 12pm lesson, Mr Yap basically give us guides and tips for the MST. It sounds difficult looking at the content that he will be testing us. I am afraid i can't do well for the paper. But i will try my best.

He practised with us doing the Activity-On-Node just now. When he said it will be 30 marks, i knew i have to be careful on the forward and backward passes. I need to do more revision on this 4 credit module.

Tomorrow will be our presentation and showing our e-portfolio. Lets hope for the best :)

WBS

This is our final WBS in mind map concept. I think this way is much more easier than the one we did in Project Management. :)

Our group has split the tasks among each other. So that everyone has a part to contribute to this assignment. It will help save time and complete it faster.
We have completed the WBS, Gantt Chart, AON and cost breakdown.

I find that the AON critical path is very troublesome because it has so many activity to include and paths to do. Let me show you why.

i think i can go cross-eyed looking at this. hahaha. :D

Group tutorial 1

Our group is working on an event for cats. It is called "Feline Festival". This is to help raise funds for SPCA and also to make people be aware of the abuse of cats.

We have done some final touches here and there on our presentation. It is finally done 2 days ago and hopefully Mr Yap understand our concept. We had some troubles at first because my microsoft powerpoint 2007 trial has expired. Luckily, I had sent Joanne as a back up and we are able to complete the rest of it. Thank God! :D

& CATS ARE CUTE!!!! :)

Group Tutorial 1

So far, the group tutorial 1 my group did was successful.
The tutorial was doing a report and design a space planning for our event.
Manage to apply at least 2 CP code to it which is CP 27 and CP 55.
As the accountant of the team, have to plan the budget for our event. The estimated cost for the Feline Fiesta. As a group, we had to plan properly the cost and items used. Overall, we managed to complete our report and drawing and hand in it on time. I am fortunate to be teamed up with my current group. :DD

Reflection on AutoCAD freestyle

For practical using AutoCAD freestyle, it is great to use because of the items that can be put inside the spaces. There are a variety of items to decorate the home. It is very useful for an interior designer, space planner and etc.
I enjoyed myself doing it and colouring it too.
I get to redo my drawing and make it a better one.
Somehow, the software is lagging and need to restart it all over again. Luckily, i have saved it.
Overall, its a great practical. We learn a new thing.

Reflection on Tutorial 1

I was unclear about the tutorial 1 that we have to draw the space planning for a fashion show. So i draw the normal way like putting the pantry near the toilets and not in an innovative way. When i see my classmates drawings like Alan's & Royston's, I felt like my drawing need to redo. It looks so ugly.
The criteria matrix is manageable to do. But quite long if there are a lot of rooms in the drawing.
Overall, it is a good tutorial.
